G. А. Ivashentsov is a diplomat whose service mainly ran along the Asian route: India, Myanmar and South Korea. His book, however, is a non-standard memoir of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs veteran about the peripeteias during service. The author talks in a trustworthy manner about himself, his studies, Russian and foreign colleagues and the problems facing our country. Yet this is first and foremost the narrative of a Russian man about his personal vision of Russia’s Asian partners, with whom the resolution of many common challenges awaits our state.
