Indonesia's foreign policy. 1959–1972

The work covers the problems of foreign policy of the Republic of Indonesia during the "guided democracy" of the Sukarno regime (1959-1965) and under the current "new order" established by the army that came to power in the fall of 1965. The book traces how the policy of non-alignment, as Sukarno's personal power grew stronger, gradually lost its coherence, becoming increasingly aligned with the adventurist course of the PRC leadership in the international arena. Analyzing the modern foreign policy of Indonesia, the author shows that this policy is characterized by orientation towards the West. At the same time, the ways and means by which the USA, FRG, Japan, etc. seek to strengthen their influence in Indonesia, to detach it from the broad front of the anti-imperialist struggle are considered.
